The First Attempt
The answer seemed obvious: make the balloons from hard plastic. No escaping air, no deflated display after a day. It worked, partly. The balls lasted for years. But they were heavy. That airy, cheerful appearance of a real balloon had disappeared. Valuable lessons, but not yet the solution.
